Te Rewa Rewa Bridge

Whitaker Civil Engineering Ltd was selected to submit for the Design and Build of the new “Te Rewa Rewa” Bridge, an iconic pedestrian bridge, over the Waiwhakaiho River along the coastal walkway near New Plymouth.

This project included the project management, bridge design, fabrication, transportation, erection, earthworks, and construction of reinforced concrete abutments, springings and approaches of a new 70m single span bridge.

The project also included the upgrade of a second 22m reinforced concrete bridge crossing an adjacent river tributary.

This project was delivered by working within a partnering philosophy with NPDC to ensure that the highest quality was delivered on time and to budget.
